The following is a sample lesson plan from Module 3 of the Global Simulation Curriculum for FREN 202. The focus of the module is on portraits and self-portraits. Students read an excerpt from Muriel Barbery's "L'élégance du hérisson" where Paloma introduces herself. The lesson goals are to model reading strategies that students will be able to apply in independent reading and to further develop awareness about the importance of language choices in the presentation of self.
